This project was launched in the beginning of 2010 and was running for one year. Art Pit team got a possibility to use modern architecture building from Soviet Union period in Lithuania, which was situated in the city center of Kaunas Lithuania. This is a huge building with a stage and place for an audience of 600 people. It also has two floors and a spacious hall, which was used for exhibitions, performances and movie screenings. As the building was empty and very spacious, we separated it into four zones — reading corner, social space, cinema space under the stairs and exhibition space. For creating a social space, we asked local people to donate old furniture, which was latter refurbished by the team of artists. Ironically, we got a lot of donation of furniture from Soviet Union period, so it fitted very well with architecture of the building. This space became very attractive space for local young artists and creates who got a possibility to exhibit their works, organize performances and gather together for various discussions or just a cup of coffee. In one year, we organized around 80 various kind of creative events, which got a lot of attention from local youth, tourists, press and creative community.
