Art Pit team highly believes that creative city development and improvement of social spaces within the city are very important. One of our aim is to work with abandoned places and areas and use various resources to make this spaces lively active and fascinating again. The project Art Square was launched in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2010. We worked with an idea to use abandoned fountain from Soviet Union time and transformed it to social activity pool for inhabitants of the city. Working with designers the concept to use the theme of water was developed. In three months time, innovative sitting area was created within the fountain. The designers used old baths and waterproof materials to create furniture and lighting. This temporary space worked as a coffee shop and art activities outdoor space during the summer of 2010. The concept to of furniture and design created by Justina Balčiūnaitė and Jonas Juozas Rudzinskas.
